Summary: XPA - The XPA Messaging System Name: xpa Version: 2.1.7b1 Release: 1.el5.uson URL: http://hea-www.harvard.edu/RD/xpa/ Source0: %{name}-%{version}.tar.gz License: Other Group: Applications/Scientific Packager: Fernando Avila Castro Distribution: Area de Astronomia, USON BuildRoot: %{_tmppath}/%{name}-root %description The XPA messaging system provides seamless communication between many kinds of Unix programs, including X programs and Tcl/Tk programs. It also provides an easy way for users to communicate with these XPA-enabled programs by executing XPA client commands in the shell or by utilizing such commands in scripts. Because XPA works both at the programming level and the shell level, it is a powerful tool for unifying any analysis environment: users and programmers have great flexibility in choosing the best level or levels at which to access XPA services, and client access can be extended or modified easily at any time. A program becomes an XPA-enabled server by defining named points of public access through which data and commands can be exchanged with other client programs (and users). Using standard TCP sockets as a transport mechanism, XPA supports both single-point and broadcast messaging to and from these servers. It supports direct communication between XPA clients and servers, or indirect communication via an intermediate message bus emulation program. Host-based access control is implemented, as is as the ability to communicate with XPA servers across a network. %prep %setup -q %build ./configure --prefix=$RPM_BUILD_ROOT/usr make %install rm -rf $RPM_BUILD_ROOT mkdir -p $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/usr/bin mkdir -p $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/usr/include mkdir -p $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/usr/lib make install %clean rm -rf $RPM_BUILD_ROOT rm -rf $RPM_BUILD_DIR/%{name}-%{version} %files %defattr(-,root,root) /usr/bin/* /usr/include/* /usr/lib/* /usr/man/man1/* /usr/man/man3/* /usr/man/mann/* /usr/share/xpa %doc doc/* INSTALL README %changelog * Wed Apr 18 2007 - rebuild for rhel 5 * Mon May 15 2006 - update to 2.1.7b1; build under FC 5 * Wed Jun 22 2005 - build under FC 4 * Wed Oct 20 2004 - build under FC 3 * Mon Sep 27 2004 - update to 2.1.6 * Mon Aug 16 2004 - build under FC 2 * Tue Jan 20 2004 - update to 2.1.5 - build under FC 1 * Fri Aug 22 2003 - updated to 2.1.4 - build under RH 9 * Wed May 8 2002 tim - Updated to official 2.1.0 release * Mon Feb 4 2002 tim - Initial build.
